Traveling to Austrlia late 2012 early 2013. Anyone else?

I'm Vicki from Essex, I just turned 27 and oh my gad I was pleased to stumble across this thread! Im also looking to go end of the year possibly as late as early jan 2013 (hopefully booking my ticket pretty soon!) I am dying to get away but like a lot of you, I am going it alone and pretty scared! I'm rather clueless apart from that I will be flying into Sydney and I will be on a WHV and am looking to go back through Asia! I don't really know where to go or what to do! Hash tag nervous!! Has anyone used a company to help set you up?!

Any advise or reassurances are very welcome! Real mix of excitement and nerves right about now!!!

My name is Carla, I'm 23 & I am heading to Thailand on the 13th of feb 2013, i'll stay in Thailand for 3 weeks & then I arrive in Sydney on the 10th of March!

I'm also travelling on my own, my friends are all doing there own things so when it came to the crunch I just decided to go for it and book it! I booked in on saturday and I actually felt sick & excited at the same time

I'm from Ireland/Dublin by the way I would love to get intouch with some of you and it would be great to meet up along the way on all our travels

I am looking to do exactly the same as you! Thailand for probably only a week or two, then start my year in OZ in March.

Are you thinking of doing any introduction type weeks or just winging it?

Hi Joshua / Lydia Jane,

Well I'm going to Thailand for 3 weeks so I'm pretty much winging it fro 3 weeks which to be honest I'm quite nervous about, I'm thinking of heading to Phi Phi and get the ferry to a couple of the other islands

I arrive in Sydney on the 10th of March so my plan is to do a group thing for a week called Oz Intro (you guys should look it up) basically it s group thing full of activities and your first weeks is sorted like where your staying and all that!!

I'm very nervous about going but I think it's a once in a life time thing and I will really regret it in years to come if I don't do it!!

I would love to hear more about your plans Joshua & Lydia Jane & anyone else who is planning on setting off

Ive already looked into ozintro and ive decided that im going to do that also and probably around the same time actually. Ive also looked at using thaintro (which is ozintro for thailand) for the week that I want to do in Thailand.

I totally agree that its scary but very exciting. Ive been toying over university and travel for a while now and travel is definitely what I want to do.
