Hi Everyone, im new here and am planning on heading to eastern europe in may. I was just wondering if anyone here has been there and could give me a heads up with accommodation. I was wondering if anybody stayed with a local family they met via the internet or at the bus station.
Thanks in advance
I've been in there !!! nad had a great time !!!!
I've only travelled down the coast ; but it is great !
A mix of greece and italy and south of france, but with lesser tourists (I was there in June).
I can have some adresses where to sleep, but I did mainly camping? So I don't know if this can interest you ? What is your budget by the way ?
I will send you some interesting places to be tomorrow, ok ?

Ciao and good trip... Europe is a very friendly world...
Hi, i went to eastern europe last summer and stopped in Croatia for a couple of days. I stayed in the north as did not have the time to go further. It was though beautiful and i would love to go back. I would say to make sure u plan and book where you want to stay before you go and dont rely on random people approaching you at the train station as it can, on occasion, be slightly dodgy. I would recommend looking on the internet for plces to stay, a good starting point being www.hostelworld.com though try not to nook from here as they will charge you. Another useful site that i used was http://www.visit-croatia.co.uk/accommodation/
this provides info on croatia as a whole as well as accomm.
When i went i tenchicall stayed in a lady's aparment that she let out. I managed to book this online and it was actually very nice and fairly cheap. Accommodation for your trip should be really easy to find on the internet and a lot safer than just turing up and hoping for the best.
If you are not comfortable with staying with randoms then it is advisable to plan ahead as advised. however i found nothing wrong with staying with people who approach you at the stations. it seems to be a tradition that all croations have a guest room or four and they will help you out with any questions you have while you stay. that was how i got accomodation in the smaller places, islands and dubrovnic.
Thanks for the tips everyone! I have a little bit of planning and research ahead of me
