Looking for work in Europe

Travel Forums Europe Looking for work in Europe

I am from and live in London but I'm wanting to move away to elsewhere in Europe, mainly to find work and be in a new city. I've mostly menial type job experience, shops, offices and portering, nothing very exciting. Can anyone tell me what's the best way to go about looking for this type of work? Should I consider a few weeks in a place or try applying for jobs over the internet? And is there any job sites or temp agencies you can recommend?

Do you want to find work for just a few weeks? Or do you want to move for at least a year or two? jobsgoabroad.com is a start

In any case it depends on which languages you speak.

Ah yeah forgot to mention that, I can't speak any other languages. I would like to stay away for a year or two, yeah.

Speaking only English your options are somewhat limited. Ireland, of course, but the unemployment rate there is pretty high. Malta, maybe.
Or save enough money to support you for some months and move to a city you like in the EU. With a British passport you can stay anywhere in the EU , as long as you can support yourself. Then start looking for an English speaking job once you're there - but this won't be easy for menial jobs.
What about doing a language course in London? Think of where you'd like to stay, do one or two courses in the local language so that you can speak and follow instructions , and then go there.
