Hope you don't mind me quoting you, hippiechic... From the Hunter S thread: "So is torment necessary to create the beauty and genius that we see, or not?"

What fuels the flames of creativity? What fuels your creative flames?

I am not very crafty or creative (I am an accountant for God's sakes!!!) but what fuels my "creative fires" is the desire to meet people from all over the world and learn learn learn about their cultures, countries and customs. That is my the extent of my creativity in life!

(I will have to be creative when I go backpacking in April!)

A really good book or movie does it for me. Good advertising, too. (Has anyone seen the new Virgin Mobile Canada ads yet??!)

I write most of the day for work, so there are times when you feel like your creative gas tank has just about hit empty. Reading/watching something that makes your mind spin and sparks those neurons is usually the inspiration I need!

It's pretty much the same for me. My job is extinguishing what little creativity I do have. LOL!
I have to write scripts all day at work and it's difficult to motivate myself to write anything at all these days outside of office hours.

I'm a movie addict and I love that high that you get when you come out from a really good film. It gets the creative juices flowing again....

I have to say, you guys all get my mind working - so I probably should say thanks.

Lots of writers here heh? And yes Samsara, we do have a lot of "thinkers" around here to keep our mind going and going...

Having a clear head is conducive to creativity for me

A break from reality gets my creative flames burning. By that I mean a break from the everyday hum-drum routine of life!

Gotta agree with James. A break from the everyday grind, always keeps the creative juices flowing. Or fire burning.
