Hello Lydia,
Im actually staying with a friend at the minute right in the centre on Northbridge. Its reasonably easy to get a hostel though, ive just been lucky enough to have someone to stay with.
Northbridge is lovely and a great night out, however it is quite expenisve. The weather hasnt been great though, its rained a few times since ive been here and is a lot colder than i expected so a jumper or cardigan is essential particularly in the evening. Shorts and tshirts are fine when the sun is out though. You cant wear flip flops on a night out, which i was quite surprised by, so make sure you bring some heels or nice sandals with you and dont forget your sun glasses! the sun is a lot stronger and brighter than anything ive ever experienced!
As for jobs theres lots of travelers here and everyone seems to come to Perth to find work so depending on what you want to do it should be quite easy for you. Ive met lots of Irish, Asian and Americans whilst here so youll certainly meet lots of fellow travellers :)

No idea really. I think they're trying to make it quite smart on a night out. It's a lot like the uk really, you wouldn't be allowed in a club in flip flops in the uk so I guess it's the same here. I did think it was quite odd though and I'm glad I brought some smart shoes :)

Hi Emma,
Sounds great.
Im getting so nervous about coming and especially about what to pack!
Expecting it to be quite cold at nights tho so will definately pack for that.

Are you wanting to find long term work whilst your there or are you now going to be travelling around? If you're still in Perth when we get there would be great to meet up!

Think our first hostel is going to be Costloe Beach Hostel about 20mins outside of the city. We arrive at 4:40 in the morning though so reallllly not looking forward to that and all the jet lag!

Cant wait :)

x
