Im heading out in Februay. I could have been gone before end of year, but id rather save for those extra few months, because i cant imagine it been easy to find a job straight away, and i really dont want to come home sooner than planned lol.
Im heading to Brisbane first, then just go where i feel. I feel so nervous now so god knows what it will be like when it gets closer!
SE Asia will be amazing, sounds like your planning to spend a good few month there plus christmas and new year! I can imagine it to be the best new year ever!
Where abouts are you thinking to go to in Aus, after you have been to Asia?
I'm going around the same time, spending most of my time on where to start off! I think I'm going to head off to Brisbane first!
My current flatmate is part Australian so he's given me a few tips and helping along the way, hes my trip planner from now on! It's pretty hard to get a job out there at the moment if your not "skilled"
All my friends think I'm crazy traveling on my own, I need to get out the UK, meet new people and not worry about every day life!
Whats everyones plans for the year? Anyone actually got there Visa sorted yet?
Really re job? Is it that hard?? =/ I've heard Australia isn't that hard to find a palce in..so i was kind of banking on that to survive past the funds I'll have saved up when i go...At most, I'll have AUD10,000...but that's the very very maximum I plan to have...and I definitely want to find a job...damn it I hope it would be easy hehe.
Any thoughts anyone??
P.s. Lalaland89 we should keep in touch then since we'll be going at the same time
No visa finalisation yet..I feel it's too early anyway!
LaLa your so lucky you have your own little trip planner, bet he is giving you some good advice.
I have my visa and flights sorted so mainly saving now. My soical life has come to an end, but im sure it will all be worht it :-).
I just cant wait to go now :-)
Have you applied for your visa yet?
My best friends there now and he said finding work is easy if you dont mind what you do, people come in and out of hostels looking for fruit pickers/bar staff/promotion work so my plan is to spend about 4 weeks or more sight seeing, going out on trips, diving etc but then I want to find a job because apparently Aus is 3 times more expensive than the UK,
I havent sorted my WHV visa out either, il do that in SEA its way to early and its easy enough to get nearer the time.
when is everyone thinking of getting there? Il hopefully arrive in March/April, would be nice to have people to meet up with before i'm there
Yeah, I think it depends where you go!
Yeah I've applied for it its all too exciting!

I'm travelling alone as my friends all have there own things going on boyfriends, babies etc!To say I'm nervous is an understatement but I'm very excited that I have decided to go for it
I'd love to hear about all your plans and who knows maybe we could meet up on our travels
