My husband and I are taking an anniversary trip to Scandinavia in mid-May - we have about 2 days and nights in Norway, so I'm wondering if we should go to Oslo or Bergen on this trip. Oslo sounds like a cool city but Bergen sounds enchanting. Any thoughts from people who have been to both??
We're interested in some activity but also want to have some leisure time...
I was not too impressed with Oslo, but Bergen was a true gem (much smaller and more interesting with better food - loved the smorgasbord at the Hotel Norge). Only 2 days in Norway - that's a real shame!
Bergen is the "Gateway to the Fjords" - you can taste the fjord country or simply visit the most astonishing fjord scenera on a one day tour called "Norway in a nutshell". Bergen is a "big littletown" - Norway's gateway to the world" (international profile).
