I live for sometime now in London because I can make my wage here - and too some extend associating myself with an english society.

However I feel more like an internationalist - I wouldn't suffer if I moved anywhere else in the world.

Quoting MASSAGEUK

"...I would imagine that my views won't be appreciated by chinese authorities - but than they never like any disagreement. That's why of the reasons I am not considering visiting china..."

Your views would NOT be appreciated by the Chinese period ! If you have no reason to visit China, why make scurrilous (or any) remarks? Should we attribute it all simply to "the fear of the yellow peril"?

Quoting MASSAGEUK

"...Generally chinese population is conservative - you confirmed it - that't all what I was saying..."

In your opinion, I confirmed it. Speak for yourself. I don't subscribe to your brand of politics or rhetoric.

Quoting MASSAGEUK

"... Nationalism goes closely with conservatism - and is contradictory to my idea of an open society and spirit of a modern humanism (we are all one human race and all state and nation devisions are artificial)..."

Does it? Is it? Are we? Are they?

[quote=MASSAGEUK]"...As I mentioned before: I don't have a country ..."

Really? The list of countries (& nationalities) that you don't like seems to be getting longer all the time.

Apart from advertising your business, why bother with this website?
Is it merely to improve your written language skills?

Quoting MASSAGEUK

"... sport more devides than bonds and Olimpics are more about showing the power of the contry and politics - Berlin 1936 is a striking example - with all the flag waving and national anthems

2005 minus 1936 = how many years?

Do you hate the Germans as well?

Quoting MASSAGEUK

"...WTO is an international financial institution supporting existing south-north economic devision..."

That's a profound simplification.

Quoting MASSAGEUK

"...UN was set up during the 2nd ww by the usa-uk-ussr against the Axis powers and after the war acting as a supranational status-quo keeping organisation (policeman) sanctioning wars (Bosnia, 2nd Gulf War) - in the interests of the world dominating countries..."

So we've been completely mislead by the promise of " a more secure world", and "shared responsibility"?

Quoting MASSAGEUK

"...I did not insult Mao yet - but I think most of us agree that he was in pair with stalin and hitler - dictator and murderer. I have never read and don't have an intention reading his 'Little red book' - but if I would most probably confirm my present opinions..."

Hitler's regime was totalitarian. Stalin snubbed Chairman Mao, and kept him waiting when he first visited Moscow.

BTW English is my native language, so please give direct answers to the questions posed rather than going off on some other tangent.

if by that you mean misread - than yes.

All these posts rang a bell...

From the "What nationalities do you make friends with best?" forum:

"Myself I have problems with finding friends amoung native arabs, israelis and gypsys.I really don't like when they start talking in their own language at my presence." - MESSAGEUK

All this is making my skin crawl.

18. Posted by ukmassage (Inactive 1052 posts) 11y

and now some misquoting - to put things in a context:

"For me ethnic origin is the least important when choosing friends. Generally I am attracted to opposite, different, exotic. However, some groups have very strong cultural traditions which often prevents them from mixing with others and they tend to stay in their own tribal ghetto."

Yes, you're quite right, and I apologize. I should have put that in better context.

What I meant to draw similarities to was the generalization of cultures - the Chinese are/I don't like it when they/etc. From my experience, you'll find people of all cultures who will talk to or snub you.

The more "foreign" the culture, the more difficult it is to understand certain cultural realities, certainly. But to generalize is to miss the point and miss out on what can be a very enlightening experience. It's also scarily very "us" and "them".

20. Posted by ukmassage (Inactive 1052 posts) 11y

tway - nothing to do 'us' and 'they'. As you might already gathered I don't recognise 'nation' as a valid concept, coutries are purely artificial political devisions and there is only one human race.

I just only stated that people inhabiting China do have conservative mentality even without qualifying it as an idea I do disagree.

wocca confirmed it

Quoting Wocca

The Chinese are for the most quite conservative

, but later took his words back.
