Just returned from Jordan and found it very good value for money. Given the plethora of great historical and natural sights, they cater for the top end, as well as the lower end traveller.
As a rule, I would recommend not to book accommodation as website tend to ask for more.
I WANT TO GO JORDAN!!! HOW MUCH DID YOU SPEND TOTAL???
thailand is really cheap!
Croatia is cheap.
Is it really?
I'm going there in 3 weeks and my general research is that it is 1 of the more expensive areas in what is to be considered Eastern Europe.
Croatia is cheap compared to more Western European countries, but the further East you go the cheaper it gets. For example Hungary is cheaper than Croatia, and they are both really great countries. Check out Plitvice lakes in Croatia and Split, Rijeka and Pula are nice and are the better places to go out (in the spring/summer and more or less only on weekends)
Source: Spent 2 months last summer travelling round Europe in a camper van with 4 of my mates.
Guatemala countryside is cheap and is also cheap to take part of some Spanish courses. You don´t have to stay in Guatemala city.
I have just returned after I have been traveling in Peru, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala and California.
Just finished travelling in S.America and S.E. Asia and I would definitely go for Bolivia. As well as being dirt cheap it also happens to be an amazing country!!!

Croatia is cheap.
I was gonna say that! Anyway, I couldn't agree more.
If anyone's planning on going there.. avoid Istria. It's been influenced by mass tourism there (more than in other places) and you don't get to see and experience Croatia's qualities. I recommend doing a combination of coast and central Croatia
which part of Croatia do you recommend?
