hiya,

well my plans are to go in april 2013 for about six weeks.

i'm thinking of taking a route from nyc to chicago to denver to san fran finishing off for in la.

there is a large train service called amtrak in the us, takes you to and from many of the large cities so take a look at that. thinking about spending a week in each city, staying in hostels.

Hi Michaelo, why finish in L.A. when you can finish in San Diego, Ca. 2 1/2 hr -3 hrs from Dwntwn L.A
depending on traffic. The amtrak also stops in San Diego. 1 or 2 day is good to see a lot of San Diego.
Very good public transportation to get around the city from Downtown to the beaches and to Tijuana, Mexico
20 min-30 min. trolley ride from dwntwn SD. Hostelling International SD is located on Market st and 5th ave,
near all the clubs in the Gaslamp Quarter. Have fun and Safe travelling.
