The best place is almost always the next one. Even if it isn't, the anticipation is often almost better than the reality, which makes the next place best*

* Unless, of course, the next place is Aylesbury. Or Guantanamo Bay. Or Hässleholm. Or.... (List continues until page 769)

I would say Barcelona, Spain.

California isn't bad either.

The best place in the world is anywhere outside the hustle and bustle of city life. Out in the mountains, somewhere near rushing water and wildlife. Somewhere you can just completely let go of the demands of life, relax and ground yourself again. I guess that's easier said than done for many though - a little biased as I live roughly only an hour away from the Rockies.
