hey TP, i'm planning a 42 daytrip to europe next march/april. I've been told that walking and sightseeing is quite tiresome, so I've decided to take 3 or 4 days off to rest... and since i'm very fond of the sea and it's scenary I'd like to stay at a beach city/island.

The last part of my trip includes 10 days( to distribute between croatia and southern Italy: naples/ bari/amlfi)

NOw here comes the Q: what city should i choose as my resting spot: croatian beaches(zadar, split, pula) or the amalfi coastline????? I' d also have given capri quite some consideration, given the fact that Im flying home from rome and it was a close place...

the thread is open for ur comments daniela

Hi, i spent a couple of days in Pula on a month long trip around eastern europe over the summer and it was amazing. The water is so crystal clear it was amazing, plus there are loads of boat trips out to the various croatian islands if you find ur self getting bored.

One word of caution though, it seems once ur in Pula they dont like to let u go again!! At least not out of Croatia. I ended up having to go inland to Rijeka and spending a night in a 4* hotel as couldnt get to Ljubljana in Slovenia. Just make sure u check that you can get where u need to go as it is a very small town with a tiny train station.

There is also some nice stuff to see if u fancied taking in some sights at the same time.

Nicola

Amalfi is great! if u wanna just relax the sorrentinian coast is the best place I've ever seen...just be careful with local people (never forget that u're close to Naples...) especially if u're goodlooking!
Anyway I suggest u to go to Maiori, close to Amalfi, it's simply amazing! u won't forget it easily

I have never been to Croatia but I have a friend from there and he raves about the beaches and thats why he loves going back so much. Based on what I've heard, I think Croatia will be your best bet and probably a bit more exotic too.
