Matt, I'll have a look tonight as i'll be booking my hostels for Xmas and nye later. I can tell you now those 2 weeks aint that cheap. But prices drop down again after. Hopefully find a place to live pretty soon after rather then hosteling it.
And i reckon the best thing to do about the work, just make sure you got enough money to survive for 2 months without a job. And if you cant get a job in that time, your probably not trying hard enough. There are always travelers coming and going so in reality, if your willing to do anything to get by you should be fine. Im not worrying about it. Thats part of the adventure right.
