Quoting Wocca

Rice travels in. Rice travels out. In fact, there were some green things mixed amongst the chilli & meat today.

No rice noodle soup on the menu??? Mr. Tin must be in a complete state of depression. Maybe tomorrow, Mr. Tin...

Wocca has been enlightened, and seen the error in his/her/its ways.

Firstly, the dollop of oil that floats of top of rice noodle soup would make travelling with Mr Tin both slippery & treacherous. If the rice noodle soup has to be conveyed per kind favour of Mr Tin, then it is wrapped within a plastic bag. The canteen workers used to see Mister Tin, and automatically presume that he had only come along for a free ride. But that was not the case at all. Rice noodle soup has never soiled the insides of Mister Tin. (Besides, who are these workers to judge the worth of Mister Tin anyhow? He's just as Chinese as any of them.)

Wocca had been previously of the impression that western metabolisms were NOT designed for copious amounts of steamed rice. He/she/it restricted rice intake down to a small serving ONCE per day, in an attempt to avoid stomach bloating. Mister Tin felt quite differently about the issue, because he was most comfortable resting on top of Wocca's stomach whilst travelling. But,have you ever ridden a bicycle on a windy, overcast spring day with a bloated stomach? That's a travel experience in itself.
:( Wocca has been informed by a Chinese girl student, (who goes by the English name "Cuckoo")that it is NOT in fact, rice that bloats the stomach. The true culprit is rice noodle soup.

There is a sneaking suspicion that Mister Tin was already aware of this morsel of knowledge, because he has been in China longer than Wocca. But, in the spirit of friendly co-operation, Mister Tin should be given the benefit of the doubt. After all, the balance of probabilities would be the burden of proof if this case was tested in the World Court in The Hague. It looks like Mister Tin has come out on top this time. He & Wocca can both view it as a unique shared discovery, and regard the outcome as a win-win situation because they are still good travel companions.

Not in a very long time. A family of ardent groundhogs took pity on my bicycle and converted into a gate for their happy little residence under my shed. I do believe the handlebars are all that remain visible at this time. My bicycle does seem to be quite happy with it's new assignment... It used to be red...

Mr. Tin, being a sage vessel, seems to have chosen his traveling companion wisely. A mutual understanding of rice noodle soup's intricacies seems to have paved the way for a beautiful and enlightening relationship. A deep bow to Mr. Tin.;)
