Im going to Sydney end of November, doing it solo too. Scary stuff but it's got to be done! I went to my local travel agents that specialise in backpackers and travellers. They've helped me alot with reccomendations and such. What are you hoping to do out in oz?

You'll be just fine. Everyone goes through the same feelings when they first leave. It's like your first day at a new school where you don't know anyone.

But whether you get on ok by yourself or not, can I suggest you give this a try, Help.X Its an organization that is free to use. In return for about 4 hours work you get accommodation and food with local families. Its a great way to meet people who can often introduce you to people with paying jobs. It's a good way to take a breather from backpacking and feel like part of a family.
