hey
i am from europe in fact i am from belguim the center of europe...
the best way i find the cheapest is hitch-hick (to use your thume)
in every country the is next to belguim it is easy to get a ride, but in brittan it to hard don't try it there just get a cheap car or take the bus and visit scotland it is great... and lifting here is easy very easy...

but see that you have enough money if you want to take the train it is not cheap here

see ya

I'd always suggest not buying a car, as it cuts you off from the experience and people. Hitch Hiking is good, trains generally frequent and efficient, plus you meet people and can enjoy the scenery (as opposed to concentrating on the other nutter drivers) as well as read/sleep/drink etc when you travel. You can supplement that with odd ferries, plane rides (lots of very cheap flights) and even hire cars for a few days in certain places in order to cover everything you want to.

Hitch-hiking isn't a problem in Europe? It is illegal in the US (not saying I haven't done it) But I think I might be a little afraid traveling that way. Especailly if I were traveling solo.
