As some of you know im planning my trip to Germany everything is booked, and im learning my German, but i was wondering how easy it is to get from Tegel Airport to Berlin-mitte?
Will there just be a bus saying "Berlin"
any feed back would be good
Most likely there will be many different buses going to various parts of Berlin. To get updated info about transportation into berlin-city just go to one of the numerous information desks at the airport which will provide you with any significant information. To give you a current survey about the position of Tegel airport I'm posting a .pdf metro schedule: Tegel airport is in the upper left quarter. You probably must use the zoom function to see something.
Berlin local transport is pretty good, although it can be a little patchy due to the relatively recent joining of two independently operational travel networks, something about a wall coming down?
For example, the east has a good tram network, the west relies more on buses. They worked hard to re-establish the lines that were cut in half by the wall.
Have a good look at that map and you will find it very useful, it will be your second best friend. Your first? The local who spots you reading the map and offers help. Berlin is only the second place I have ever been openly offered directions help, the other is my home country, UK.
Well thanks for the help guys, ive looked at the U and S Bahn site and kinda got an idea of where to go. But i suppose getting lost if some of the fun. Ich versetehe nur ein bisschen deutsch.
Again can't do that funny B shape on here
Anywho thanks for the help
