If I am not flying into Indonesia, but entering on land, can I still get a 30 day visa on arrival? Thanks!

I haven't done this trip yet but from my own research, if your entering by land you need to have the visa in advance. Citizens from over 63 countries can get a 30 day on arrival but this seems to be only by air or sea, the attached link has all the air and seaports. When I was looking this up I couldn't find any land entry visa on arrival points, however came across a few forum posts where people were turned away at land borders for not having a visa arranged beforehand. Any visa issued by an Indonesian embassy is only valid for 90 days from date of issue.

Hope this helps x

Hi,

To clarify the visa comment above.
A traveller has 90 days to enter Indonesia from date of application for a 60 day visa.
Once in Indonesia( within the 90 day period) your 60 day visa begins.
These days it can be extend 30 days at a time up to 4 times for 250,000 rupiah/extension.
Pamela.
