Well, you're gonna meet people that you actually share a common language with aren't you? How much conversation are you going to have with a German who can't speak English if you can't speak German?

That's why people reckon there's heaps of Australians/Brits/Americans, etc that are travelling.

I've actually met a lot of Norweigen people too. Which was odd because we didn't visit Norway when we were in Europe. Most oft he Norweigens we met were in the South of France and Italy.

I might be an exception, but I prefer to meet Germans in Germany, Italians in Italy, ...etc...

That's because part of travelling for me is get to practice their languages and get to know how they express themselves. I tend to avoid French speaking travellers! (it's not personal, it's just that I spoke it too much in my life )

I also want to meet the natives when I travel and it doesn't bother me if I don't meet any other Brits. The exception is Evertonians, I am happy to meet fellow Bluenoses any time anywhere.
