Quoting tway

"Why were you in hospital?"
"Oh, I had to have my Y chromosome removed. The doctor said I won't feel any different."

Isn't the Y chromosome a a guy thing, passed down generations
only through the male line?

Meaning the "Let's Ponder This..." guantlet, of course!

More likely ... "Let's start a new WOCCA thread" , such as:
+
"Have You Ever Been Wocca'd?"
"Wocca My Soul In The Bosom Of Abraham"
"The Genetics Of Wocca"
+

FOOTNOTE to Isadora:

There appears to be no apparent "illucidation" with tway's spelling in the quote at the top of this reply.

Silly me...

The Y chromosone is responsible for the lowering and increased volume of the male voice during adolescence - from which point on is primarily used for announcing their presence to a group of females (or attracting other males during football season).

The Y chromosome is responsible for passing the Y chromosone on to the next generation of male offspring. (Given that one of the above females acknowledged the original male and actual mating commenced.

In 5 million years, football season will become obsolete and the poor Y chromosome will be just a footnote in evolutionary history book.

Ok, now I know why all my cousins are male!

Right of reply:

1) Some TP'ers seem to believe so
2) Depends on how tangible you consider your soul to be
3) Y , of course.

"...3) With X being recessive?

May have to wait at least a couple of generations to confirm that possibility.

ummm...

according to the Guardian (national british newspaper) today the Y chromosome is a decaying crippled form of it's original self containing relatively few genes.

every human has a set of chromosomes, on each a mosaic of genes that work alone or together to code for every characteristic in our body, only males posess the Y it is impossible for them to be XX or they would be female. This pattern is what causes the passage of sex linked traits that show only in males.
