Hey guys, applied for my WHV earlier and literally got it granted a couple hours later so that's one thing off the list!
I'm aiming to be in Aus for mid November this year, really want to be in Sydney for xmas/new year, my brother now lives in sydney so could always crash on his couch for a few days

Then i'll be pounding the streets looking for a job, either in Sydney or after heading to cheaper parts, depends how long money lasts, hoping to be out there with around £3500

Anyone buying just a one way ticket?

Hi dale

Yeah im thinking of a one way ticket, if it comes to it just show the funds on a bank statement that i can afford a return ticket if need be, but im planning on starting up in cairns to get fruit picking so i can be eligible for the second year. I should be going out with around the same amount of money, il get my WHV applied for on wednesday then look at flights but im just waiting on the decisions of two friends to see if they come as that will decide when i go.

hey dodger so are you saying you cant book a one way ticket or can you?

Correct you can not. You need to show proof of an outward bound ticket. But as I said that doesn't mean it has to be a return to your original country of origin.

Hopefully someone here will respond that knows for sure. BUT if you are going on a WHV I believe you only need to show you have the funds for a return ticket. You should be able to look it up on the gov website. WHV

Might be on the rules, but yet to have met anyone asked about it!

I certainly never had one booked.
