Perhaps I should ask in a different way!
I use to take my favourite CD's with me when I travel somewhere, what about you? ;)

I sometimes burn off my favourite cd's , and if i find a small bar that i go to a lot, i give them the cd's. I always make up a CD cover with a holiday picture on as well. I generally take a bit of house music with some nice vibes, throw in the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Franz Ferdinand, The Zutons, Snow Patrol etc and you have the next little collection i am taking away with me.

Here are CD's very expensive, so the music industry won't aks why everybody burns the ones he like! I only buy Originials from artists I like very much! :)
@ daveh: I like your taste!

yeh i always burn mine-wherever i go i always take my minidisc with me-well until i broke it-it's my oxygen-i'm lost without it-i-pod is next i think!

I usually burn a mix of songs-i love ultrabeat-they've got that holiday vibe i think! I'm going to take the songs that i have been listening to while searching and planning for my trip-it'll seam so surreal when i'm actually out of this country!

Don't you find different songs have different meanings to you i.e.depending on what was going no in your life at the time you was into a particular song or album??

I have all kinds of music at home, and it depends on my mood what I listen to! Sometimes I hear one song all day, or even one album!!

oh my you sound like me-music i listen to varies from 80's music to current stuff-from pop to dance to bands like metallica etc.

I couldn't live without music-it de-stressses me-i always turn to it!

I have always taken my MD player too, it still works but i am considering going down the i-pod (or a similar product) route too.
I definitely agree what you listen to is a mood thing. I once had to go to a party where everyone picked there 4 favourite songs which the host played. I ended up with:

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Under the Bridge
Oasis - Talk Tonite
Massive Attack - Unfinished Sympathy
Alison Limerick - Where Love Lives

Not sure if that's a whole new topic i may be starting there

hey-chilli peppers-under the bridge is what i'm listening to now and a bit of damien rice-cannon ball-that will be one of my travel songs.Oasis are easy listening-good choice!

My bro has recently got an i-pod-i think i'll get one-they seem pretty good!

Lost twin-maybe, i can't say that i like many groups/artists that people haven't heard of-usually ive never heard of the people my mates listen to, i used to come out with a whole host of groups that people hadn't heard of!

It's good to listen to a variation of music!
