hey all,
Im going to oz on the 23rd of july (cant wait!!) im heading out on a one way flight just wondering does there be any hassle with immigration when you land?

Not if your papers are in order. If you want to work there, you must have a work visa.

They may ask for evidence that you have enough money to support yourself. You can show some credit cards and claim to have lots of money on them.

If you're on a WHV, then it's totally fine, and they should be completely used to backpackers not yet knowing when they'll fly out again. Theoretically you need to be able to show that you have "sufficient funds" to buy a ticket out of the country (besides the AUD $5000 you need to be eligible for the WHV), but this is never checked up on (as far as anyone's ever reported here on the forums).

hi thanks a mill for your replies.
i already have the whv so does that mean i only have to show that i have the money for a flight out? im planning on going to the U.S after OZ if im lucky enough to have money at the end of it!!

Although they say these things are needed, I wasn't asked for (and have yet to meet anyone who was asked for) to prove how much money I had or anything about money for a flight home.

Not sure if this depends on where you come from though, they might be more trusting of a UK passport than some others?
