HI THERE

MY HUSBAND AND I PLAN A TRIP TO CENTRAL AMERICA THIS COMING APRIL. WE HAVE NOT FINALIZED WHICH COUNTRY TO VISIT YET BECAUSE OUR OUR SON IS WHO IS GOING TO BE 2 YEARS OLD WILL JOIN US. AS YOU CAN IMAGINE WITH SO YOUNG CHILD AROUND WE WANT ANY SUGGESTIONS ABOUT THE PLACES AND THE PROGRAMMES WE HAVE TO FOLLOW. WE ARE THINKING EITHER COSTA RICA OR HONDURAS. THE TYPE OF VACATION WE WOULD LIKE TO HAVE IS BASICALLY AT A RESORT WITH THE OPTION OF SOME SIGHTSEEING AROUND. I HAVE READ THAT COSTA RICA IS MORE DEVELOPED THAT HONDURAS AND AS SUCH HAS ALL THE FACILITIES FOR YOUNG CHILDREN AS WELL. MOREOVER, WE HAVE READ THAT THE BLUE RESORT IN UTILA HONDURAS IS SOMETHING THAT YOU REALLY HAVE TO SEE ONCE IN YOUR LIFE. ANY SUGGESTIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS AS TO WHICH COUNTRY WE HAVE TO SELECT WILL BE MUCH APPRECIATED.

PS OUR VACATION IS GOING TO BE 10 DAYS. COULD WE COMBINE HONDURAS AND GUATEMALA AT AN EASY PACE OR DO YOUR THINK THAT COSTA RICA IS MORE SUITABLE FOR US CONSIDERING OUR LIMITATIONS.

THANK AVRA

Hey there,

I've lived in Costa Rica for around 7 years, I would definitely recommend it over Honduras. You will have a great time here, especially if you stay at one of the Barcelo Resorts (Tambor or Delfines are both great).

Trust me. Take Costa Rica - San Jose (there capital city) isnt special, but the beaches are gorgeous. Honduras is unstable and dangerous.

I lived in Honduras for about 2 years back in 96 - 98 I would have to agree if you are heading down with a 2 year old I would suggest Costa Rica. You might feel better about the babysitting services and access to 100% safe food for the child in Costa Rica. Have fun!!
