Decent second hand camera gear?

Travel Forums Travel Photography Decent second hand camera gear?

I've been using a Sigma 28-135 lens as my main lens for the past couple of years and it finally packed up on me whilst I was in Marrakech last December. Basically the focusing system stopped working. I managed to get it 'fixed' in a local camera shop so that it would at least focus on manual. I'm not 100% sure they put all the elements back correctly though (some of my slides don't appear totally sharp across the whole frame).

Thing is I know it's gonna cost a small fortune to get it fixed professionally in the UK so I'm thinking of upgrading to a better Pro lens.

Does anyone know of any reliable stores in the UK selling decent second hand photo gear?

I'll be glad of any recommendations.

Mike

PS I'd welcome any comments (good or bad) on my pictures - just check out my TP Gallery

I get so wistful looking at travel photos, but I soooo enjoy it...I have spent hours on here looking at people's pictures. They are great pictures Mikey!

Thanks Joz, thanks lil j

I guess when you're somewhere like Lake Tekapo in New Zealand it's hard not to take a decent photo!

Hear, hear!

(Sorry for this otherwise mostly useless comment, but it's good to see someone else recognizing this. I don't think I've yet managed to take a bad picture in Lake Tekapo, and at this time I must be up to way over a thousand, just from four short visits there.)
