Contiki tours are great for cramming a lot of places into a limited amount of time. I've done one before and I thoroughly enjoyed it. For the places you've listed though, it's pretty easy to travel alone and meet people along the way. It comes down to how much energy you want to spend on logisitcs.

I'd recommend a week in London, a week in Edinburgh, 3-4 days in Paris and 3-4 days in Amsterdam, 3-4 days in Wales and the rest of it checking out smaller cities throughout England.

I took a 3-day weekend tour of Wales from London when I was there with a company called Shaggy Sheep. Cheap and easy way to see it with limited time and money. It's also easy to book day tours out to Salisbury and Stonehenge from London.

If you're based in Edinburgh for Scotland, you can easily train it over to Glasgow for a day, or maybe train it up to Inverness for a couple of days if you're willing to brave a Highland winter.

What I would do if I was going to those places in one month is start in London, spend a week there, then take a tour out to Wales and a tour out to Stonehenge/Salisbury. Then catch the train over to Paris (takes just two hours), train or bus from Paris to Amsterdam. Fly from Amsterdam to Edinburgh (dirt cheap with airlines like EasyJet and RyanAir). Then take the scenic route from Edinburgh back to London by train, stopping for a couple of days each in 2 or 3 places like York, Canterbury, Oxfiord, Chester, Bath, Warwick, etc.

It just comes down to how much money you've got and how much moving around you're willing to do.

The only other thing I'll add is that if you're in London for ANZAC day there are some pretty big parties around town.

That's all I've got off the top of my head. It will be a fun trip!

I travelled with Contiki once and loved it, but won´t probably do it again though. I met a lot of fun travelmates while on that trip and definitely had a good time with them, but what I regretted is that we couldn´t really imerge ourselves in the local life and culture. This is why I almost always travel on my own since then. Contikit might be interesting to travel to places that are not as safe or difficult to travel to, but in Europe travelling alone is really convenient and safe.
