Hey guys, get out to Australia, do the year on a WHV, it will be fantastic, unfortunately if you have already passedyour 30th birthday i'm afraid you will not be able to get a second year extention-good luck and happy travels.

This is not quite true. Both visas are until age 30 (inclusive), so one has until their 31st birthday to apply for the second WHV; and it's the application date which matters (as specifically pointed out on the eligibility page for the 2nd year WHV), so if one were to manage to complete 3 months of specified work before their 31st birthday, then it'd be possible to complete the full year of the 1st WHV, and then stay on for the full 2nd year as well.

Apologies ,

Sander you are quite right, i got a little confused, it is as Sander points out your 31st birthday that is the cut off point, i learnt this from personnal experience so my advice would be get you rural work out of the way as soon as you can, if this is a possible issue for you. I waited too long and as a result of wrong advice and bad research i missed out on a 2nd year.

Good luck,

Andy.
