My flights are booked! I arrive in BKK 03/08/12 at 06:15 flying from LDN Gatwick.

Is anyone else going to be there the same time?

And does anyone have any ideas/advice on what to do, what to see, and money advice etc, etc...

Thanks

Hi Ryan,

Congrats on getting the flights booked! I think I'm going the 24th September but am booking onto a tour for 30 days with ga adventures! With regards to advice I would say head to Northern Thailand, into Laos, down Vietnam, into Cambodia and then back into Thailand and then chill doing the Southern Thailand at the end! Not sure if you're aware but when you fly into Thailand you get a 30 day visa but if you cross by land into it then you only get a 14 day visa. Check our Air Asia also as they do super cheap flights throught these countries and could be handy for Vietnam and that. Careful crossing the Cambodian border, heard some stories about having to pay money to get your passport back!!

Will be free from tour the end of Oct so keep in touch if you're still around that area! Best of luck with the planning!

Hazel

Hey Hazel,

That sounds pretty awesome with the tour, that will be amazing. The route you said is almost exactly what I was thinking :) once i've travelled N.Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia I was going to just chill for a month or 2 and probably do alot of diving and my friend rents a place in Koh Tao so i've got free accomadation :) I will still be in Asia in Oct so it would be cool to catch up.

Thanks Hazel

Hey, Its dead exciting once the flights are booked! Best advice I could give is to invest in some books (lonely planet etc) about the areas your hitting and mark everything your interested in. It will give you a good starting guide to your route around, though you do have a lot of time to explore at your own pace, its nice to have a general idea!

The books/websites give a lot of tips for crossing borders etc...for example, having extra passport photos on you! I personally would have never thought of stuff like that.

Becca.

I will be in Vietnam sometime mid-September. Thinking of spending 10 days there and then fly to Indonesia. What's your plan like?

hey everybodies!

im hitting up South East Asia in August+ (next week), my first time there. Current plans are: a wedding in Phuket then the Full Moon Party on Sept 1st... havent booked a flight home and am just looking to get amongst like minded people that want to see things, do things and have fun!

I will most likely travel for 3-6 months but then who knows.

May head to Phi Phi or Krabi after Phuket before FMP if anyones interested.

Cheers ~ Matty

Hey Ryan and matty,

I land in bkk on 22nd august and am also on my own. Of you fancy meeting up somewhere for a few beers or share room costs and travel ideas let me know. I spent 4 months around the south of Thailand last gear so have a basic knowledge of the area.
Up for going anywhere whenever if you had any ideas. I'm 23 from London.

Cheers lads
