I know someone will argue, but I think that one of the worst airports I`ve seen is Frankfurt International Airport in Germany. It`s very big, and if you`re late, you`ll miss your plane because you have to walk forever from one place to another, and once at the gate you have to walk 20 mins back, if you need to go to the washroom...
I must say, however, that the position is perfect and very well connected to Frankfurt city and other cities in Germany.
My vote for worst is LA. It's the most chaotic airport I've ever been to.
Vote for best is Singapore. I've loved taking advantage of things like a free bus trip (and boat ride) into the city on a long stop-over and there's a nice area to have a shower or even hire a bed for a few hours. Fantastic!
The best Singapore. The worst (I'm sure there are worse but I don't like JFK).
Yea La Paz was pretty bad. The airport is even higher up than the city (like 14,000 feet). Our plane taxied out on the runway, then sat there for over an hour (with very little air). It was the only time in my entire life that I actually passed out. I thought I was dying, I didn't really know what was happening to me.
Then when we got to Lima, we had to get off the plane, ride the bus into the terminal, wait for a while (it was really crowded), then we had to wait in a long line, then back on thea bus to go right back out to the exact same plane (and seat) for the flight to Quito. Seemed kind of senseless to me.
Needless to say this was NOT a really good day.
The best and the worst UK airport would be the same one for the same reason. "Glasgow" Prestwick purely because of that Elvis Pressley pub...
Best airports: Kansai Airport near Osaka, Hong Kong's new airport
Worst airports: Beijing's previous airport, Guangzhou's previous airport, and LAX. Note: Beijing and Guangzhou now have new and very nice airports. However Beijing's airport is too far from the city center.
