i would like to take a side step into japan for a week or so from china although i might not book it i think i might just see how i feel once im there and book it then.. does anyone know how i can get there? i have heard people mentioning ferries? does anyone know if this would be a good idea or has anyone looked into it? i may have to do another trip of japan, cambodia, vietnam, canada etc after this trip!
Well i've been looking into beginning in September too, for the reason of money and because June July August, me and my partner will be getting ALOT of hours at work due to Summer in the Lake District so I was thinking.
Beginning of September (not sure of an exact date) we'd leave London and to Paris.
France (paris for the most part) - 8-14 daysish
Germany (Munich, Berlin) 18-24 daysish
Czech Republic I am still debating but would probably stay a week or so
Poland - 14-22 days
Russia, Moscow - 7-14 days before hitting the Transsiberian.
Then the rest of the trip after, these are VERy rough times and stuff, dependant on the other half an especially how we feel when we're out there. We might visit more cities or small towns in the different places. Unsure but we're flexible on dates at the moment.
Also debating whether or not to include Peru in my plans :/. I was thinking of starting in Greece, Italy then to France but the money would be hard and I can easily go to Greece and Italy another time. :D
I just feel like I haven't included enough europian countries in my list, I thought of Belgium, Finland etc but Finland is way off route and would involve extra expenses. :/
hello so really me and you are doing exactly the same trip.
if i begin in september i will be taking the trans siberian between october 20th - 27th..
would that be a date you are interested in?
yeah it wouldd be better for me to leave in september and better for you and max ssaid he is flexible on dates so maybe just go on the trans siberian in october ?
seeing as you and max both want to start in moscow maybe i wll skip st petersburg aswell.. i dont know.
i understand what you mean about wanting to add more european countries onto your list and you could well do but i think if you are doing a round the world trip then it may be best not to focus too m,uch on europe.
you could always do a 6 month trip around europe another time or on the way back?
also i am also torn between going to peru.. as i am not going anywhere near there then it would make sense for me to leave it but if you are going to Brazil (as i think you said you were before?) then i guess you might aswell go to peru! its only round the corner lol.. yeah finland would be amazing but again, you could do it on the way back or save it for another trip maybe?
i dont know.. depends how much money you have and how much of the world you want to see.. it is really hard to get a finite list dont u think? you just keep adding on to it.. its so hard.. !
if you are going to germany then belgium could probably be squeezed in as it is right next door too..
hope all is well
Liking the plans guys - certainly something I'd like to be a part of.
Think your a bit ahead of me in terms of maping it out so I did this map - http://www.travellerspoint.com/member_map.cfm?user=maxihobbs&tripid=367131
Can you see this? As both of yours its very rough and subject to much change but it's good to get a start
Those dates work pretty well for me, i'll to the other half about it and get back to you, but honestly I see no issue with it at all, ideally I was gon in 2013 but she talked some sense into me saying we'll need more than that to do it properly and see what we can and her being sensible would probably rather wait till September as opposed to July anyways (July wa my idea she was like... We could get almost 3.5 grand in July and August wages which will be awesome) so I was talked into it lol. October is pretty good timme for us then, I'm also thinking Work in Australia for a while save some money and then on the way back hit different countries on the way back like Nat suggested :D, I ws surprised my partner was up for it since she wasn't a big fan of the idea of Australia for very long but like me she wants to stay out as long as possible. So all in all it's looking like maybe January/Februry time we'll hit Oz, depending, work for 3-12 months depending on how we feel, hit Newzealand and Fiji, Brazil (only for a short time because that place is expensiiiiveeee) then head back through europe hopefully :D..... Even though I would love to go to Antarictica it would cost at least an extra 5000 to go there :/. So all in all I could be out travelling from 12-24 months, maybe more :D :D so happy and excited even if it is two years away!! Hey Maxi, I looked at your map the routes looking good, i'm still undecided on how to include certain cities and countries, going to have to go over it properly, hopefully by the end of these two years we'll all see eachother on the Transsiberian rail :D
Having had a look at plans/dates etc I'm happy to hit this in September 2014 guys. I'll do Europe around August time which will be the start of my travels and then meet you in either Moscow or St Petersburg in September to start the epic voyage on the trans-siberian!
that sounds wicked! Although i thought we were gpnna go in october as sodriscoll is startin in september as am i.. if you lot would rather meet in russia in september tho i am cool with that. oh my goddd i am soooo excited!!!!! I cant wait! Let me kno guys and then can maybe book it? :D i am so excited! Hurry up 2014!!!
Im 22 and have been to 4 of the 7 continents..ive done parts of europe when i was in my teens, i live in USA so I've got north america covered to an extent and this past trip i left for only asia but ran out of money and wound up in australia instead of going back half way around the world to go home..now I'm making such good money that after just one year working and traveling throughout OZ i will be flying into argentina and doing south america..the cheapest route to get to antarctica is through argentina so i can't miss what may be one of the only chances ill get to board an antarctica cruise..ill be setting foot on antarctica and heading back up through south america, central america to complete places i have yet to see and then through mexico which I've been so many times..then back to the US..ill take a break and save up money and then off to my last and final continent, Africa..Africa is something you should do all on its own..asia is fast and you can get through a lot in a series of months unless your more adventurous and head north to mongolia and the "stans" but its my mission has been to set foot on all continents before i turn 30 and it looks like when i get home, i may not last long in my house before i can manage enough money to fly over to africa..and then to set foot on all 7 continents before 25 would be an accomplishment to write a book about or something..key to your trip shouldn't be money, save enough to get through third world parts that won't cost you a lot but australia is definitely a place you can arrive and make back every last dollar you left home with in half the time..once you've made enough money, continue on..just think that moving forward on to the next place is taking you farther from england but the farther you go the closer you will get to circling the world and making it back home. My trip was only meant to be 6 months and actually today i missed my flight home back to new york from New Delhi india..im currently sitting on my couch in australia lol..your plans will change and now I'm looking at the next 2 years ahead of me, instead of reminiscing photos of the last 6 months. good luck on your travels and keep moving forward!
