Help with a Short RWT 2013

Hi!

I have started planning my trip around the world. I am a novice traveler, but always wanted to travel.

Am going to be traveling with 3 friends. We are planning to head out may/june 2013.

We have a budget of about 4k each.

So far these are the countries we are planning to visit, but again I am a novice so any suggestions or modifications please feel free.

I must say I love beaches a LOT, esp perfect beaches with white sand and clear waters. Also, the duration of the holiday is 6 weeks max.

Well here it goes.

- Caribbean (1 week) not sure where in the caribbean though)
- Brazil
- USA
- China (hong kong)
- Thailand (phuket)

This list looked good to me, but looking through the internet and seeing other travelers, i have noticed that most of them pick different countries to me, and its not just a matter of taste, because most of them have a lot of countries in common.

I must say, i am not a big fan of historical buildings nor are any of my friends. We mostly like water activities, wildlife, jungles, animals and food.

And we do not like rain! Since we r traveling from the UK we want to avoid rain as much as possible lol

The Caribbean in May/June? Just in time for the start of the rainy season.

The best way to see the Caribbean is a cruise and take in a number of islands over maybe two weeks. There are always cheapos available, and you get flights, all accommodation and food so not too badly priced.

Brazil? Not a lot there.

USA is big and expensive. What do you want to see there?

Thailand is cheap. You could fly there say December to January, spend 30 days there visa free, then a cheap AirAsia (think Ryanair) flight to Hong Kong for some days then back to Thailand for another 30 days. You can be on the beach, even scuba driving in warm, clear water when they are all freezing back home. A friend took some bread crumbs and the many fish ate out of his hand.

Food. Anything you want, and cheap, and many bars too.

The problem with your schedule is you go one way, then head many thousands of miles the other way. RTW tickets usually include Down Under somewhere, and heading in the direction of America instead of Asia pumps up the price.
