Hello world;

new to forums so will kick this off basically - my names Matty, im hitting up South East Asia in August+ (next week), my first time there. Current plans are: a wedding in Phuket then the Full Moon Party on Sept 1st... havent booked a flight home and am just looking to get amongst like minded people that want to see things, do things and have fun!

I will most likely travel for 3-6 months but then who knows :) I am certainly not new to traveling and am rather savvy to making the most of everything, even with nothing. So; i invite everyone to share the experiences.

Feel free to send any tips/ideas/must do's etc or even come along for ride!?

I'd recommend getting to Koh Pha Ngan a few days before the Full Moon Party as the build up down the beach every night is almost as good as Full Moon itself.

I'd also recommend visiting Koh Phi Phi. And Krabi is a good spot to base yourself for a few days where you can do a few decent day trips.

If you're looking to meet like-minded people then The Rock is a very sociable hostel on Koh Phi Phi (as long as you don't mind roughing it) and Pak Up Hostel is an excellent hostel in Krabi which again is a good spot for meeting other backpackers.

Cheers Emmett70, currently have booked accomdation 6-15th in Phuket and 28th-4th in Haad Rin for the FML.

Koh Phi Phi The Rock looks good, ill check it out on arrival - thanks.

Krabi Pak Up Hostel has been reccommended by many and is on the list too.
