The world of overland expedition companies has shrunk yet again. Kumuka has shutdown operations and filed for bankruptcy. If anyone had a trip booked with them, you had best check with your travel agent!

NOTICE TO ALL CUSTOMERS
Kenlin Limited t/a Kumuka Worldwide – Proposed Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidation (‘the Company’).
It is with great regret to inform you that as a consequence of the Company’s financial difficulties, the Company is no longer in a position to continue to trade and has commenced proceedings to place the Company into Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidation.
To assist the director in convening the relevant meetings to place the Company into Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidation, UHY Hacker Young LLP (‘UHY’) have formally been instructed in this matter. The proposed Joint Liquidators are Peter Kubik and Michael Kiely, both of whom are Licensed Insolvency Practitioners at UHY.

NOTICE TO KUMUKA PASSENGERS
We are sorry to announce that Kumuka has ceased trading. We apologise unreservedly to all Kumuka passengers and we are working hard to respond to all enquiries.
Please note: If you are booked on a Kumuka tour starting on or before this Sunday; 22 July 2012. All tours will travel.
Anyone booked on a trip after this date will need to re-book with another operator.

Australia New Zealand – If you are a customer who has booked a tour with ‘Independent Travel Adventure Pty Ltd’ (In Administration) trading as Kumuka, who deal with tour bookings in AUSTRALIA and NEW ZEALAND and your travel plans are incomplete, please call the ‘Travel Compensation Fund’ Hotline on 1300 658 165.
New Zealand - Travellers should initially claim against their credit card company if they have paid for their travel by credit card. Otherwise people in NZ (as long as not a resident of Australia) who travel via Australia can make a claim against TCF, www.tcf.org,au. If they are not travelling via Australia they can still make a claim via TCF, but the payment is discretionary and needs to go to the Board for approval.
UK - Kumuka holidays are ATOL Protected by the Civil Aviation Authority. ATOL Protection extends primarily to customers who book and pay in the United Kingdom. If you want to know more visit ATOL's website www.caa.co.uk
Canada - Kumuka Worldwide Inc is registered with the Ontario Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO).
