Hi, we are an couple from England who sold up and set off travelling Feb 2011. We are in NZ at the mo where we managed to apply for a waiver on our tourist visa which allowed us to work in the orchards. We done apple picking, kiwi picking and now pruning apple trees.

Sadly we are too old for a WHV

We have to leave NZ by 19th November and are trying to decide where to go next. We'd really like to head to Oz, but we have fairly limited funds (which we are hoping will get us to Asia yet).

Is it possible to get cash work in Oz without a WHV visa? I know the official answer will be no, but we've heard that its really a yes. Would love to hear from anyone who has managed to cash work without a WHV. Where should be head to? What work is the easiest to find?

Any pointers would be really helpful.:)

Thanks in advance

Debs

TV programmes on the Australian Customs show people turning up with little money and no work visa saying they are not going to work when obviously they are.

They are literally put on the next plane home. The Aussies do not mess about.

You want to work, get a work visa. Some work in Australia:

Tell them you have been fruit picking in NZ.
