Hey you! Is there anyone that has moved to Chicago, visits often, etc. I need travel buddies and people to discuss travel with here. Any takers?

I get to Chicago 3-4 times a year..I will be there next week but only for two day...a week long stay at the end of May/early June though?

My husband and I lived in Chicago for many years and make the trip at least 12 (usually more) times a year. We're only 125 miles from the Loop and family/friends are are all still there too.

I think you're right! Libertyville was one of my old stomping grounds when I worked for American Critical Care (now part of Abbott or Baxter). I lived in Wauconda for awhile and moved to Highland Park after a divorce. Moved into the city when I took the job at U of I Med Ctr. I'd move every couple of years so got a taste of several suburbs and the city. Love Chicago!

I can't picture it at the moment, and not getting up to find the map - I don't think Salem is that far away from us. We're ~50 miles straight south of Madison, just across the Illinois border. Kris works in Monroe, WI - 12 miles north.

Hey Bender -

I'm IN Chicago too. What part of town are you in? I live in Lincoln Park. I've been here for about 4 years.

Where are you visiting next?

Every year we went to Libertyville (then to Gurney;)especially when I was young..Great America was THE place to ride the coasters! I love Chicago! I am going in June to see the "Body Worlds" exhibit by Gunther von Hagens, doesn't interest a soul in my family except my son...but in May I will be in Salem for about a week...for some reason I thought it was closer to Monroe, but it is almost right between Lake Geneva and Kenosha. I will send you an email as it gets closer, we can solidify plans then:)

Joz-
I saw the Body Worlds exhibit. Very interesting. It was a little creepy but I got used to it after awhile. :)

I am utterly facinated by the human body...I don't think I would be donating my body to his exhibit anytime soon, but I am excited to see it! Was it crowded? How far of a walk from parking? Is there seating inside? :)

I saw the body exhibit last year in LA. That was the COOLEST thing I've ever seen...though the concept was developed by NAZI scientists. But other than...WOW. Isn't it amazing that you can tease everything away but the vascular pathways??? I couldn't get over it and was raving mad about it for weeks!!
