Hey everyone,

Me and my boyfriend have decided we really want to go travelling for as long as possible but no longer than a year. i am planning to take a year out from uni as i have started my career really young at 20 and so want to travel when i can come back and not have the responsibility of a qualified professional.

We mainly really want to go to Thailand but Australia and New Zealand interest us alot too, weve decided we will do europe if we have enough money/time after.

What id like to ask is how much do you think would be sensible to take, we are both willing to work as we go to get a little extra cash. Has anyone done travelling for long periods who can help shed some light on the pros and cons and costs ect. also any advice on how to start planning / good companies to use ect :)

Thank you :D

xx

For costings see

http://www.travelindependent.info/b4yougo.htm#cost

Working in many countries you'll need a working Visa, think before you work without one as this can be big trouble in some countries if you are caught.

Thailand is an easy country to travel in and is set up for independent travelers.

OZ and NZ are easy to travel in.

Check out the cost of
Visas
Inoculation, injections, malaria tablets(dependent on where you travel in Thailand).
Insurance definitely medical.
