You still haven't told me how long you plan to be in Asia, Anne
I did! I sent you an email yesterday, actually two (one with the plans, one with a link for pics). Let me check to see if I have the right address. Meanwhile, here was my message...just in case you dont get it...again.
Hey Warren. I looked at your pics, they look great by the way. Just to
give you an idea of how long I will be there (hence my time constraints for
what I can see), I will be arriving on April 29th morning. I am leaving
May 15th around 8 am. You probably know that here in the US, vacation time
is not too generous.
My original plan was as follows (take into consideration I sleep very little
and I eat very little when I am on "vacation", this is true):
Arrive on 4/29 into Bangkok, spend two/three days there, go to Siem Reap,
spend three days there, take the Rambo boat to PP, spend two days there,
head to HCMC, spend three days there and if I have few days left maybe head
down to Phuket or one of the Thailand islands.
Now, since we are planning to go to Chiang Mai, it will be Bangkok, Chiang
Mai, Laos, Siem Reap and the rest as planned before. Do you have any better
I never like to spend more than 2-3 days anywhere. I almost never do in any
vacation, I like to see as much as I can during the time that I am there.
If I have time to go to Malasya for even two days, I am up for that. I know
you may think this is crazy but I saw half of Europe in two weeks in 2004
and I can guarantee you I didn't miss a thing. I am open to suggestions
about an itinerary based on any geographical constraints I may encounter
(eg. going from Laos to Siem Reap). Anyway, let me know what you think when
you get a chance, no big rush. I don't have to decide anything until I get
there, that is the beauty of backpacking. Talk to you soon!
