Hey guys,

Just wondering where people tend to go around christmas time in Australia. Im sure there are lots of options but im sure its a time when you want to be having fun and not dwelling on missing everyone from home...

Any suggestions ?? Im going to be traelling the East Coast and aiming to be in Sydney for New Year

I think I'd probably pick the Gold Coast for xmas, but you may like somewhere busier.

As to New Year, Sydney is very expensive then as that is the place to be (I suppose you've seen the fireworks display on TV?). Book accommodation there ASAP as many rooms have gone already.

I was on work assignment for 2 months at Sydney in December last year, and the place is really pleasant. I stayed near Darling Harbour at Fraser Suites Sydney's corporate apartments; needless to say the fireworks were spectacular. Other than that, it's really your typical big city festivities that you'd find! There are also lots of art galleries and quaint little shops you can find in Sydney so be sure to check that out too.
