Hey something i just thought about, is that the rules have changed and keep changing regarding visas. You need to really do your research on when and where to get them for each country. I just remembered that I think India is now not allowing Brit's to get an Indian visa at the embassy in K/L. And as i said if you got it in the uk before you left, it would start running as soon as it is approved, so limiting how long you can stay in India. Check here for details on the Indian visa Indiamike and here for SEA visas Travelfish

On the subject of teaching. If you are really serious, i can set you up with some lovely people in Sri Lanka that run a boys orphanage in Colombo, it wouldn't be paid, but they would give you accommodation and food and totally take care of you, and the boys would really appreciate and enjoy it. Really all they want is people to talk to and to show the boys that there is a world outside the orphanage. It would boost your confidence and give you a chance to see if it's really something you want to do. You can get really cheap flights again from K/L like $85! and you don't need no stinking visa!

Hey Dodger

thanks again, your advice is invaluable. i have previously briefly entered into the messy confusing world of visa applications! They are horrible. i dont have day off work now really for about two weeks but when i do i am going to try to allocate a whole day to trying to educate myself and read into visas and whete to get them andhow to get them and when to get them. Thats handy to know aboyt the indian visa actually as i didnt kno that so thanks..

that offer about that school is amazing i would love to take you up on that if i could. i went to uni to train to be a primary school teacher with the sole intention of wanting to travel to places like china and india to teach children. in fact the idea of teaching children in india and sri lanka is what originally spurred me into actually making the concrete decision to go travelling in the first place.

I am not worried about pay to be honest and didnt even think about it or expect it really. the fact accomodation and food would be included in this would be amazing.

I would really appreciate it if you could set me up wuth that it would be awesone i would love it.

The thing is i am not going until the end of 2014 unfortunately so it is a long way off.

I am definately up for it though. thank you for all your help u really appreciate it
