If you really want to live here, do it the right way - get a work permit, one-year visa, etc. In the beginning I used to get two month tourist visas with a one month extension, then there were companies you paid who did everything for you. Those days are gone and if you do that now and are caught you risk being deported. It was a hassle to do so, not to mention it costs money to fly in and out of the country and it adds up.

I've been here on a journalist visa (M) and marriage (O) and believe me when I say that if you're here long enough, you will have to state how you make a living and why you're here. I really don't want to be bothered by having to lie about what I'm doing and how I make my money. It's much easier to do things the right way and have a clear head about it...but that's just me.

Quoting scottmallo

I'm no BOT - Somehow I think my post stating I've been living in Thailand for nearly 17 years is worded quite a bit different than yours Cleanboy but in any case, it wasn't intentional. and I was attempting to give you advice. Frankly, I read the initial post, browsed through the others, and posted what I posted.

Moderator's note: Just to clarify Scott, I deleted the post which Cleanboy was referring to, so his comment wasn't anything to do with the content of your post. The spammer had indeed just changed the wording slightly on Cleanboy's initial post. Sorry for any confusion.
