I will be traveling to Ecuador in May. We will be in the rainforest for 10 days and in the Galapagos for a couple days. First of all I am worried about what the humidity will do to my camera. Second if I get a waterproof case I would probably use it when we go snorkeling.
I have a Canon Rebel and just got a 24-200 lens. Does anyone have suggestions for good waterproof cases?
This will be difficult.
First i don't think a waterproof casing will help you (if they exist for your camera).
Some advise from me.
- Try to change lenses as little as possible.
Maybe humidty is not your biggest problem but Mold grow in you lenses.
- Be carefull with big quick temprature shifts. And if you know they are gone acure then put your camera in a plastic bag till it so it gets to the right temprature without fogin up and making more water problems.
But besides that just use comon sence. Try to keep it out of the rain and be carefull with wiping your lens (use a special lens cloth instead of a normal piece of cloth).
I traveld arround with my Canon gear and never had any humidty problems.
I love my olympus mju - the weatherproof body keeps worries to a minimum!
Hope this helps! They have EVERYTHING there!
