First time travelling: need advise, help and a buddy

how much money is best to save before you head off?

i am hoping to take about 1,000 spending money, and have at least 1,000 emergency money left in the bank

i'm still wondering what to do though
i'd rather do a trip with someone
turns out it's going to cost pretty much the same for me to pay for someone to come with me as it is for me to do an escorted tour ;/

hey guys flight booked for oz 5th of july next year if anyone's interested.

cant even imagine how long it would take me to save 10,000 i dont know anyone who has saved up that much! im impressed!

ive only recently decided that i want to go so havent had much planning with it all. but i know its a definate

i had it in the back of my head for the last few years, but never really *planned* anything
now that i have enough money i'm trying to make plans but everything is failing >.<!
i know i have to go, because it's something i kind of need to get out of my system
i feel like my life is on hold until i get this out of the way

Im exactly the same.. feels like somethings missing.. dont know what but i feel like that a big part and i want to see as much of the world as i can..

im going on holiday next july so hoping next september time.. but dont know how much to aim to save.. i wont be able to afford to go this year which is dissapointing.

well a year is good
that should give you time to save

i guess it depends aswell on whether you want to just holiday, or if you're going for a few months maybe you'll be able to work whilst away too

maybe you can just come with me this year lol!

well im going on holiday with a friend next year but i actually want to do travelling as well..

if i had the money i would definately go this year !

how long do u plan on going for then?

just a month this year
the first 2 weeks just getting from sydney to cairns or vice versa
about 2 weeks in adelaide to chill

it's just to test the water really and see if i wanna go back with a working visa next year

yeh well that seems like the more sensible thing to do.

thats so exciting, sydney will be amazing
