Looking for the best way to travel from Barcelona to Venice and then from Venice to Rome! We only have a couple of days in each city, so we want to make the best of our time! I am seeing that with the travel from Barcelona to Venice, it would take a while to get from one city to the other because of the many connections we'd have to take, so a flight might be better. I'm not sure though! I would love some advice!

Also, as to what hostels or hotels that are price fair and centrally located would be great to hear about as well! We're new to this Europe thing, so all the help we can get is welcome!!

:)

I would fly from Barcelona to Venice. Its a big distance and will save you time and money. When I was in Venice I took the train to Florence. There were people on the train who were headed to Rome. You can do the trip all in one day on train from Venice to Rome.

Sigh - yet another with an extraordinary pace....

You do not say when, but you will have several budget airlines to the two closest airports to Venice.
see - www.whichbudget.com

The journey by train Venice to Rome will be a direct journey of less than four hours and perhaps about the same time as a flight by the time you have gone to and from and hung around airports.
