I've noticed that there's a few people on this board with similar travel plans.
I'm a 22 year old Canadian guy hoping to do a bit of backpacking on a Working Holiday Visa. I plan to fly in the first week of January, and leave the last week of April. I've looked into the Greyhound Mini-Pass for $450, but if I could find a group of people who are renting a camper-van, I think I'd rather do that. I like to think I'm an easy-going and out-going guy; although, this will be my first time travelling overseas alone. I'm pretty set on making it at least to Melbourne, but really I could be swayed to change my plans pretty easily. I'd really like to make it to Perth if I have the opportunity and can afford to. I can't decide how to allocate my time in Australia - initially I wanted to spend like 3 weeks in each of the major cities (Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth), but I'm thinking now I'll just go with the flow, especially if I can meet other travellers on here. At the very least I'm hoping to meet someone on here who is down to go out drinking with me on Australia Day.
Feel free to send me a message if you're interested in meeting up at all in Australia. I don't think I know a single person in the country, and I'm sure at least a few of you are in the same boat - so I'd appreciate hearing from all of you.
