I am going alone too, travelling to Oz in jan solo!

It'd cool to have like a fb page/group thingie for all of us whom are going down in early 2013 for an easy way to find eachother! Feels so much easier than PMing here. :)

Hi
What's your name on FB ? I will add you as a friend and set a group up!

Hi all,
My name is Dáithí (Irish for David). I'm hoping to travel to Sydney in early to mid Feb. Would love to meet others in the same boat. I've been in Lebanon and Scotland for six months each time, the longest I've been away. But this will be for a year or more. My advice is to plan ahead, I'm still researching a lot I'd say consider doing RSA/RCG courses if you are hoping to work in hotels and/or pubs. I've made up a checklist for employment, rent and travel. I'd recommend that to everyone. Loads of great sites online like the lonelyplanet and bbmlive.com. We will have a ball :)

Hey, Im also traveling solo, heading to sydney in march. The plan is to work and travel. No firm plans as of yet. Think il try and find work pretty much straight away farming in NSW . I have a friend coming to visit for one month in june and i think we are planning to either buy rent or relocate a campavan from sydney to cairns stopping off along the way. what il get up to after that point i have no idea! but i might stay in cairns at that point or head to melbourne…. Would be cool to catch up with people along the way :)

Hello

22 year old male from north yorkshire, going to be heading alone to australia oct/nov 13. Will be starting off in brisbane for 2 weeks as i have family there. What route would you suggest taking after that or maybe stay in the brisbane area.

Ideally i want to do my 88 days rural work so i have the option of a 2nd year. Going to get my visa pretty soon and book my flights up in the next following few months.

I'll basically do the rest of the things that need sorting when am in australia like medical and tax number etc.

I'm going to australia to get away from things and to meet some people that are like minded. basically enjoy travelling, meeting new people, partying and coming home with more money that i went if its possible.

Hi everyone.

I just spent the last half hour reading through most of the posts on this and surprised everyone seems to be in the same boat. I'm planning to heading out to sydney in march/April and the take it from there. I was proper bricking it going solo, but having read a few posts it seems this is quite a common thing. I've still not got flights but hoping to get some sorted soon, I'm from Glasgow but probably need to fly from London or Another uk airport, what the best airline to go with? I had looked at Malaysian airlines and quantas but just wondering if anyone has seen any cracking we deals?
Think like a few people on here, once a get to Sydney I'll try bar or labouring work, canny be arsed going to Australia to get stuck in an office again.

Hi Guys

Great to hear so many doing it on there own. I'm heading to Oz solo myself, arriving in Perth on 3rd March and ideally want to work for a while, either in Perth or regional to get my second year visa. If anybody is travelling to Perth around the same time, let me know.
I'm a 24 year old male from Ireland, fairly easygoing. Have flights and visa sorted and my only real plan in stating in Perth and seeing what happens from there.
Would be great to meet up with other like minded travellers.

Thanks
John.

Hey guys,

Just been reading through all your posts, so happy to hear there are lots of people goin out on their own as thats the one thing thats been worrying me!!
Im 26 from London, planning on flying out of Heathrow beginnin of April, going to Sydney to start with and then hopefully meeting loads of people that I can then travel and work with!
Its scary but Im so excited at the same time, can't wait to get out of the UK and see what the other side of the world has to offer!!

I'm probably going to book my flights through STA they seems to have the best offers and its the cheapest I've found so far.

Would be great to chat to any of you before you head out there!

Kate :)
