Myself and a friend are going travelling for two months in April/May next year, we are planning on starting in the US and staying for 3-4 weeks, flying into LAX, I was thinking LA, San Fran, Yosemite, Grand Canyon and Vegas.
In your opinions would it be better to do this as part of a tour or independently? I don't mind driving some of it but would not want to drive the whole distance as I feel it would be too tiring for such a long journey in a few weeks.
We have been told to avoid Greyhounds and the trips look around £1400 and you then have to add to a food kitty.
Any tips/advise would be greatly appreciated.
I would suggest trying a tour, especially if you're visiting from overseas. A tour gives you the opportunity to socialize with like-minded individuals and potentially gain new friends.
I think you mean "West Coast USA" trip advice by the way. LA, San Fran, Yosemite, the Grand Canyon and Vegas are all on the West Coast.
Several tour operators offer itineraries that take you to each destination you listed. You can find a tour that's roughly $1400 USD and includes all amenities.
You might want to try -snip-.

Thanks Kevin, & yes I did mean West Coast and now I can't change it.
Oh well, thanks for your advice, I will take a look at the link.
