berdots has indicated that this thread is about Vietnam

I have a ghastly reaction to MSG (flavor enhancer 621) and am apprehensive about my upcoming trip to Vietnam. Anyone have thoughts how to deal with this? What foods are most likely to have it added?

Stick to fruit, veg, meat, eggs and fish.

Any processed food; noodles, curry and the like might have MSG in. As would gravies and sauces. Even sweets and chocolate might have MSG in.

Do not trust anyone there when they claim that something is MSG free.

or order steamed, broiled dishes do not have creamy sauces or gravies

I think it would be better to prepare your own meal. So you will know that your food is MSG free. And I agree vegetable, meat, eggs and fish are healthy foods.
