2014 RTW

Hi,

I'm hoping to go travelling in 2014 by myself which i'm a little nervous about. I've been thinking of going Thailand, Bali, Fiji and south america (but this may change). As this is the first time i'll be travelling alone, i'd love some advice, tips or just any general info u guys may have, or even better if you're also doing a similar trip around this time (as i'd love to meet people prior to the trip or when i'm out there).

I start with a list of countries and cities/towns break this down into days and add in the cost per day, if you use a spreadsheet this will do the totaling for you. Don't forget to add in the days traveling.
Cost out the flights use a travel agent to get some idea, and any long coach or train journies you think you'll make.
Also consider climate, Visas, inoculations (take the advice of a healthcare professional) and the costs.
Find a good current account that doesn't charge a fortune for taking your money out.
Don't use Internet cafes for transferring funds.
That should give you a start.

Hello,

I am also looking at travelling in 2014 (need time to save money!) . It will also be the first time i'll be travelling alone, as my friends either don't have the money and some have already been. I was thinking of starting off in asia but heading to north america and travelling across it as it take's my fancy more. I know asia is cheap and america is expensive but I don't have a clue where to start really and am kind of scared of the concept of being on my own.
