Hi

I'm heading out to auz and New Zealand and figi in feb to may . Doing auz first then New Zealand with week of figi on the end.
I'm 27, more interested in sightseeing than going out partying. Into nature so defiently want to do rain forests, whitsundays, snorkelling barrier reef, frazer island etc.

I'm also nervous of going on my own but I'm sure once your there there will be lots of people in same boat :)

Amy :)

Amy, there's no reason to be apprehensive. Since you're a nervous traveller without much experience then Australia/NZ are excellent choices.

As I've mentioned before on this forum you're choosing destination countries that speak (sort of, haha) the very same language, listens to mostly the same music, eats much the same food, wears mostly the same clothes, etc. etc. etc... the list goes on and on...

Australia and New Zealand are not intimidating or difficult in the slightest. They have an excellent infrastructure for backpackers and budget travellers. Honestly, they're both really really easy places for a first time traveller - but they're just different enough to be fun and exciting.

Relax, have fun.

Cheers,
Terry

Thailand is an easy visitor countries it's set up for backpackers, it goes without saying that OZ and NZ are easy.

Check out this site to meet up with locals, I used this site on my travels and met lots of interesting people. Have a correspondence relationship before meeting up and make it in the afternoon if you are on your own.
