Hi all!
Next year my husband and i are heading off on our honeymoon through Amsterdam, Scandinavia, Estonia, Poland and the Czech Republic - so I predict this may be the first of many "Help me!!" posts
We are looking to stay in Krakow and visit Auschwitz-Birkenau camps but I am having trouble finding a decent tour (we will be there round early January 2014, so winter, which I think is my issue).
Can anyone suggest a tour or share thier experiences?
Thanks a bunch
Sam

We just picked up a tour on arrival at Auschwitz; we didn't book anything in advance. The tour included a short film and then a tour of the site and took around 3 hours.
You can get a public bus from Krakow main bus station which drops you right outside Auschwitz - as far as I remember they fun fairly regularly and the journey takes around 1.5 hours. There is a train too but the station is a bit of a walk from the site.
We were also in Krakow in winter - it's pretty but wrap up warm!

Does anyone recommend a guided tour from Krakow? or is it better just to find a tour once you arrive on site at Auschwitz?
I am looking to go in June 2013, and haven't booked anything yet but want to start figuring out details!

I don't think there's any need to book a tour from Krakow - everyone just seemed to pick up the tour on site, unless of course you want the convenience of transport to and from your hotel/hostel in Krakow.
